He’s a dedicated advocate of Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy and improved nutrition for supporting the ageing process. He takes a dual approach to age management tackling not only lines and wrinkles, but the person from the inside out.
In his interview with award winning beauty journalist, Alice Hart-Davis, he talks about his experience with the Covid-19 illness, his recovery process and the best ways to prepare whether infected with the virus or not.
The below is a synopsis of the interview questions and answers and have been edited for length and clarity.
Alice: You just recovered from this awful virus. Did you get I mildly or badly?
Dr. Sibthorpe: There was one point I didn’t think I would make it because the breathing became hard and I could hardly move or walk or breath for about 3-4 days. It was really bad despite everything I did as well.
Alice: What kind of things did you find were helpful…your key recommendations?
Dr. Sibthorpe: I actually started before I flew to California – before I even thought I might have it. I took mega doses of Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Zinc. I also started an anti-inflammatory diet – cutting out animal protein which is acidic. I added Probiotics to cleanse the gut, Indian Cherry Bark, Elderberry syrup, Colloidal Silver and ginger & Tumeric tea.
Alice: You mentioned an anti-acidic diet. Can you explain that a bit more.?
Dr. Sibthorpe: There’s evidence that animal protein will create acidity. Makes you more acidic. I’m moving more to an alkaline type of diet. It’s something I need to further explore. I’m cutting down on sugar – processed food. My diet is more plant based. I’m moving more to eating plant based foods.
Alice: When you say you are taking mega doses of Vitamin C and Vitamin D – what sort of doses are you talking about?
Dr. Sibthorpe: I take a form of Vitamin C called Liposomal – 10,000 to 20,000 units; Vitamin D 10,000 units a day; 30mg of Zinc – you can take up to 50mg.
Alice: You talk about Probiotics. What kind of Probiotics do you like.?
Dr. Sibthorpe: The trick with Probiotics is not stick to the same one all the time – but to change it. You want a Probiotic with many strains – billions of strains. Your body gets use to certain bacteria so you want to mix it up.
Alice: You have an elite clientele. Do they see any conflict to being healthy and having injectables at he same time?
Dr. Sibthorpe: They all live a healthy lifestyle but they love their injections just as much. Looking Good and Feeling Good has always been my motto. We’re all looking at our external physical appearance but much more important is looking at the inside of yourself. It’s all part of my work with Bio-Identical hormones and good nutrition.
What I am doing is two-fold. I’m boosting my immune system and trying to detoxify. A two-pronged attack.
Alice: With the detoxing – can you explain.?
Dr. Sibthorpe: Celery juice is good for detoxification. Chlorella tablets to help get rid of heavy metals in your body. Fish Oil for added immune protection. Mushrooms for boosting immunity.
Melatonin is also good. A diet that’s rich in colourful foods & fruits that are high in Vitamin C & D and antioxidants that support your immune system.
Alice: Where can people find you in London?
Dr. Sibthorpe: I’m based in South Kensington. My website is: doctorsib.com
