Less is more

For Men

I offer the latest treatments in minimally invasive procedures and rejuvenating treatments, customised to the individual needs of males faces. Subtle enhancements are sufficient to correct weak or unbalanced features and create a natural effect.

Anti-wrinkle injections

Anti-wrinkle treatment (Botox) is growing increasingly popular amongst men. A lot of my male patients will get treated before a job interview or a special event. The younger and better you look, the better chance you have to stay in the marketplace and compete.

Will My Face Look Frozen?

My philosophy has always been ‘less is more’. I always treat my patients conservatively so as not to give them a ‘frozen’ look whereby they cannot make any expression. A complimentary follow-up review is scheduled after two weeks to ensure that the patient is happy with the results. If there is still too much movement I will treat the area some more.

How Would You Describe The Treatment To A First Timer?

The very first time you have anti-wrinkle injections – you may have a stretched feeling as thought the skin is pulled taut. You might find it odd that you cannot move certain facial muscles as much, but this feeling subsides once you get used to it, and with subsequent treatments this does not happen.

Where Should I Have It?

Lines and wrinkle reduction are usually what people are seeking to correct. The aim of this treatment is to break the habit of frowning and squinting to reduce the appearance of the lines which will then also help to reduce the development of further facial lines. I also use Botox to elevate the eyebrows which open up the eyes, giving a more relaxed fresher appearance. It’s not always advisable to treat men’s crow’s feet – this is considered an attractive aspect to men – think Clint Eastwood. This is the opposite for women where crow’s feet treatment is recommended.

How Long Do Anti-Wrinkle Injections Last?

The effects last 3-4 months but with on-going treatments the effects can last much longer. I have a few patients that receive treatments every 6 or 9 months.

Does It Hurt?

The discomfort experienced is minimal and the treatment itself only takes a few minutes.
If a patient is needle phobic, I will use a cooling device to reduce any pain. Muscle relaxing injections are safe and there are no know long term side effects.
I use very fine needles that really do not cause any pain.

Chin & Jawline reshaping

A jawline recontouring is a cosmetic procedure that uses injectables to sculpt a refined jawline and strong chin. Anti-wrinkle injections and fillers can be used in combination to achieve significant results without creating a harsh or exaggerated appearance and without the need for surgery.  Recontouring the jawline & chin will give your face a more masculine and sculpted appearance.  It will reduce sagginess around the jowl area and improve double chins.  I will determine which areas of your chin & jawline to refine and sculpt to give you your desired results.

Why Have a Chin & Jawline Reshaping Procedure?

The areas of the face around the chin and jawline may start to sag and lose definition as your skin loses collagen and elasticity as you age. External factors such as sun exposure, smoking, and pollution can also negatively affect the skin around your jaw and face. While losing volume in the skin of your face over time is a natural occurrence, this could make your face appear less defined and make you look older than you actually are. If you want to appear more masculine, more youthful, and more sculpted, a chine & jawline reshaping procedure may be the right choice for you.

How Long Does The Procedure Take?

The procedure only takes twenty minutes from start to finish. Many of my patients come in during their lunch break to get the procedure done.

Is The Procedure Painful?

You may feel slight discomfort during or after the procedure, but you should not experience any pain. The fillers have anaesthetic in them and helps ease any discomfort during the procedure.

When Will I See Results?

Results are seen immediately but improve over the next 2-6 weeks, as the anti-wrinkle injections start to work and filler integrates with your own soft tissues causing collagen stimulation.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments and amount of filler may vary and depends on your age, degree of skin laxity, volume loss and sagginess. Typically 2-3 sessions are required usually 4-6 weeks apart.

How Soon Can I Return To Work?

You can return to work immediately following your procedure.  You do not need to schedule recovery time, as the procedure is minimally invasive.

How Long Does the Procedure Last?

It can last up to 2 years.

Non-surgical nose jobs

If you are unhappy with the shape of your nose you don’t need to go under the knife to make adjustments. Dermal fillers can be used in a variety of ways to correct a slight bump on the nose, depressed bridge (saddle nose), beak-like nose, or droopy tip. Nose reshaping fillers can help to enhance the shape of your nose – creating a smoother profile without the need for surgery.

How Does It Work?

Each treatment is personalised and tailored to address the patients specific concerns.
A treatment plan and best dermal filler is chosen to correct deformities such as straightening or correcting defects. During the treatment, the dermal filler is lightly injected in specific areas of the nose. The advanced filler then works to smooth away bumps and imperfections.

What Is The Difference Between A Non Surgical Nose Job And Rhinoplasty?

Avoiding surgery – scalpels, anaesthetic and downtime is a big plus. Some surgical intervention may not help certain deformities if they are minor. However, dermal fillers can be used to see how a nose can look before having surgery. Dermal fillers cost less, there is no scarring and no downtime.

How Long Do The Results Last?

The treatment takes 30 minutes and can last up to twelve to eighteen months or more in some cases.

What If You Don’t Like The Results?

If you don’t like the results the filler can be dissolved.

Is It Painful?

Minimal, if at all.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Minimal bruising in some cases.

Dermal fillers

Dermal Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid and are injected into the skin to smooth out lines and wrinkles by restoring that lost volume and lift. The hyaluronic acid attract water to the skin and plumps it up so fillers can be used to hydrate your skin to give it the firmer look associated with youth.

What Are The Benefits Of Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers aim to restore lost fullness to the face. These injectables can also be used to diminish dark under-eye circles and even rejuvenate the appearance of aged hands. Fillers are injected under the skin using a fine needle. Dermal fillers work to fill in areas of concern such as deep set lines around the mouth or loss of firmness in the cheeks. They can also be used to give a non-surgical facelift by injecting small amounts around the face at various points.

Are There Different Types Of Dermal Fillers?

Injectable Dermal Fillers have developed and improved dramatically since they were initially discovered. They provide a minimally invasive alternative to surgical procedures such as facelifts while still providing a great anti-ageing and rejuvenating effect. There is a wide range of Dermal Fillers available that target specific concerns. I restrict my practice to those products which have consistently demonstrated predictability and safety. The best Dermal Filler for your specific concerns is determined at your consultation.

Is The Treatment Painful?

In general, patients are mildly concerned about the potential pain factor involved with injections but almost all are surprised when the discomfort is negligible. The Dermal Filler contains a local anaesthetic and the product is injected into the skin with a very fine needle. A topical anaesthetic cream can also be applied to the skin before the treatment if a patient chooses.

Will I Bruise?

As with any sort of injection there can be some bruising and minor swelling although this is not severe and usually settles within a couple of days.

When Will You See Results?

One of the benefits of Dermal Fillers is that you will see the results immediately after your treatment. However you will continue to see improvement over the next few weeks due to collagen stimulation.

How Long Do Fillers Last?

It varies with the individual, but generally the results of a Dermal Filler treatment can last six to nine months or even up to eighteen months. It all depends on what Dermal Filler is used and where.

Armpit hyperhidrosis treatment

Armpit injections (Botox) are used to treat excessive underarm sweating or primary hyperhidrosis.

Is It Painful?

Armpit hyperhidrosis treatment for sweating only takes 10-15 minutes and is painless.
Numbing cream can be applied before the hyperhidrosis treatment. I use very fine needles which really do not cause any pain.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is no downtime, although you may experience some bruising. It is important to keep the area clean to avoid infection and avoid deodorants in the first few hours immediately following treatment to avoid any irritation.

How Effective Is It?

It is very effective. It is best to return for a review as you may require additional treatment especially if the area is large. It usually lasts from 6-9 months and is usually administered at the beginning of the spring or summer.

How Long Does It Last?

The results of hyperhidrosis treatment is amazing. For most of my patients it’s a game changer, no more embarrassing moments of sweat stains on clothing.
The results should last anywhere from 6-12 months.

I have always had a very pleasant and professional experience on my visits – Richard F
