Hormones for Women

The work hormones do is subtle but when they fall out of balance the effects on your health can be anything but. When it comes to menopause, countless hormones are at play, leading to a variety of issues including mood swings, memory loss and low bone density.

I specialise in Bio Identical Hormone Restoration therapy which supports menopausal and peri-menopausal women, as well as those with hormone imbalances, to reboot libido and energy levels, sharpen mental agility and memory capacity, strengthen bones and boost confidence by using all-natural hormones.

A simple blood test will provide the information I need to ascertain which hormones are deficient or imbalanced. Other profiles will assess vitamin and mineral levels if needed to see whether you may benefit from any dietary or lifestyle changes.

The majority of my patients begin to feel better within a few months although results can be felt as soon as a couple of weeks, especially when it comes to sleep and energy levels. Every patient has a different experience but the end result is the same – a healthier, balanced life.

FAQ’s

What are Bio-Identical Hormones?

Bio-Identical Hormones (BHRT) are chemically identical to the natural hormones produced by the human body.  They are derived from plants and refined to perfectly match the chemical structure of human hormones.  The body treats and processes these hormones as if they were its own.

Are Bio-Idential Hormones different from conventional Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Conventional Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) are sometimes animal derived (horse oestrogens).  They are not identical in chemical structure to those hormones produced by the human body while bio-identical hormones match human hormones molecule by molecule.

Who needs Bio-Identical Hormones?

It all depends on what your symptoms are and which hormone(s) your body needs.

Signs and symptoms of imbalance may include muscle atrophy, low energy levels, insomnia, mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats and anxiety.  In many cases, hormone imbalances can occur with expected changes in the lifespan such as menopause.

A simple blood test/hormone profile will provide the information needed to ascertain which hormones are deficient or imbalanced.  The profile will check vitamin and mineral levels to see if you benefit from any dietary or lifestyle changes.  Your hormone program will be adapted as progress is made.  The blood tests will be tailored and become less frequent as the body reaches optimal performance.

What is the Menopause and Perimenopause?

Menopause is a milestone in a woman’s life and health that all adult females will experience.  The menopause is a natural part of ageing that usually occurs between 45 and 55 years of age, as woman’s estrogen levels decline.  The average age for a woman to reach menopause is 51.

Perimenopause is the years leading up to menopause.  It can occur in women as young as their mid to late 30’s and is often accompanied by physical and emotional symptoms that include mood instability, weight gain, worsening PMS, insomnia, migraines and night sweats.

Both menopause and perimenopause are normal phases in every women’s life cycle.

For many women, these years can be difficult ones.  Fluctuation hormone levels can cause uncomfortable and even incapacitating symptoms including hot flashes, mood swings, depression and headaches.

My case with my hormones was not an easy one. I am so grateful that Dr Sibthorpe did whatever he could to improve my situation. We had to change prescription a few times to get results which work for my body. He is very professional, very caring, and one of the things I value the most about his work is that he never stops learning, always keep following the latest research and shares that knowledge with his patients. It’s so good to deal with someone who loves what his does and as result makes his patients happy.
